Nullification is the legal concept that States have the right to Nullify - i.e. refuse to enforce - unconstitutional Federal laws. In light of the recent passage of Obamacare (which forces citizens to purchase health insurance) and TSA naked scanning of airline passengers (which violates citizens' Fourth Amendment rights), Nullification as a remedy to federal tyranny is now more important than ever.
Recent success: Nullification of the Real ID Act of 2005, in which the Federal government attempted to foist an Unconstitutional, RFID-embedded, National ID Card upon the people of the several states. A majority of the states wrote and passed leglistaion to stop this tyranny. In the face of overwhelming resistance, the Federal government was forced to back down.

More on Nullification
Nullification traces its roots back to the very founding of our Republic. Thomas Jefferson and James Madison used it to protest the Alien and Sedition Acts. Anti-slave activists used it to block the enforcement of Federal pro-slavery laws. More recently, States have used Nullificaton to reject the REAL ID Act of 2005, and to defy the federal government by legalizing medical marijuana. These days, Nullification initiatives are popping up everywhere across the country, over TSA screenings, Obamacare, cap and trade, the Second Amendment and more.
Nullification is the Rightful Remedy
Jefferson wrote that “nullification…is the rightful remedy” when the federal government reaches beyond its constitutional powers. While it stops short of secession, it puts power back into the hands of the States, and ultimately the citizens of the states where it rightfully rests. In the Virginia Resolutions of 1798, James Madison said the states were “duty bound to resist” when the federal government violated the Constitution.
Why Do We Need It?
Dr. Woods explains: As Jefferson warned, if the federal government is allowed to hold a monopoly on determining the extent of its own powers, we have no right to be surprised when it keeps discovering new ones. If the federal government has the exclusive right to judge the extent of its own powers, it will continue to grow – regardless of elections, the separation of powers, and other much-touted limits on government power. In his famous Report of 1800, James Madison reminded Virginians and Americans at large that the judicial branch was not infallible, and that some remedy must be found for those cases in which all three branches of the federal government exceed their constitutional limits.
That remedy is Nullification.
About We Refuse - We Refuse is an online activist center that offers the tools for citizens of each state to fight federal tyranny. The people of each state must decide for themselves what legislation must be resisted and nullified. We Refuse exists to promote the power of people under the Tenth Amendment as a non political, non partisan organization. Our hope is that the founding fathers design for limited powers will continue to grow through our natural and rightful authority of Nullification.
