REBELLION IN AMERICA

Health-care mandates could be ‘null and void’

Citizens launch drive to put feds back in their constitutional place

A group of Americans who believe the federal government overstepped its constitutional bounds in passing the recent health-care legislation is rallying allies to a bold and controversial initiative: state nullification of the federal law.

“Now that health-care reform has been signed into law, the question people ask most is, ‘What do we do about it?’” said Michael Boldin, founder of the Tenth Amendment Center, in a statement. “The status-quo response includes lobbying Congress, marching on D.C., ‘voting the bums out,’ suing in federal court and more. But the last 100 years have proven that none of these really work, and government continues to grow year in and year out.”

Instead, the Center is reaching back into the history books to suggest states take up “nullification,” a controversial measure that would essentially involve states saying to the federal government, “Not in our borders, you don’t. That law has no effect here.”

The Center is partnering with WeRefuse.com to announce release of model nullification legislation for states, called the Federal Health Care Nullification Act, and a call for 100,000 Americans to join a state-by-state petition to prompt legislators into action.

Now you can join nearly 15,000 Americans and 100 members of Congress in declaring your independence from Obamacare by signing Rep. Michele Bachmann’s Declaration of Health Care Independence.

“Nullification will allow Americans to stop the overreaching federal government now, not years from now,” said Trevor Lyman of WeRefuse.com in a statement. “We can make our biggest waves in local politics. Our state governments understand the impact of a vocal and irate minority, and they simply need to hear from us.

“WeRefuse.com and the Tenth Amendment Center’s Federal Health Care Nullification Act give our state legislators their marching orders,” he continued.

The question of whether nullification is a legal and permissible step, however, has been battled over since the ink was still wet on the U.S. Constitution…

I have just sent a note to my Congressman , Dean Heller, to ask to start whatever is necessary to get Obama from overspending on all these trips he is taking – the one to London where he took 500 people, 200 secret service, his own chef, food and 36 vehicles has me over the top ! When are we going to say NO to this fool !

So if Obamacare can be nullified, what about all these crap laws forcing us to buy auto insurance. I for one have paid and paid and paid and still am paying for something I will most likely never use. Haven’t used it in the past 25 years and get nothing in return for my excellent driving record. I think if insurance on cars is mandatory as is, then every year you maintain a no accident or no claims against a policy status the person should have the choice to get a refund of half the amount paid in or allowing that half to rollover with interest and an even bigger refund for year two of accident/claim free status. That would be incentive to make people drive more safely, possibly cut an insureds costs by half or even more, and also save the good drivers even more money by rating the driver against no others but the individual. Did you know when you buy car insurance you are buying coverage for all the bad drivers within your zip code and the number of accidents in your zip code? Then they also toss in credit scores to jerk us over even more. Example is my credit score. It is almost perfect at 800 of a possible 850. (350 is the lowest). That’s in the top 90% of the country. Do I get any benefit for this “excellent” rating. No I get penalized because my score is not 850. The insurance companies use credit scores exclusively as a means to raise everybodies rates with no possibility of a rate reduction for better than average scores.Oh I can’t wait till the ball really gets a rollin’. Oust those idiots in all levels of gov’t. They are all scum except for a few that can be counted and totaled on both hands or maybe just one. OK I’m done with that rant. grumble grumble grumble………………….

These DC Idiots just piss me off sometimes with all the stealing they do of our income. And the education we are subjected to teaches nothing about reality of the laws and how to deal with t hem properly and t he amount of mush meal that gets packed into the heads in school is astounding. I understand why the US is not producing hardly any engineering graduates. Sad. When only a couple generations ago we led the world, so much so we put a man on the moon among much other achievements. Can’t go into space without engineers to do the calculations on how to do it and get back safely.
